MikroTik hAP ac3
The MikroTik hAP ac3 is a professional-grade router suitable for advanced users with extensive networking experience. It supports VPN and ZeroTier, comes with a standard US-based power adaptor, and has WPA3 compatibility if the Wave2 wireless package is installed in ROS 7.2. The hAP ac3 has two antenna headers, POE out ports, and increased RAM to 256MB compared to the previous hAP ac2. The WIFI signal is strong and customizable, but not meshable with other products. Some customers had initial power up issues with the 5GHz interface, and the user interface can be complicated for novices. However, it may be configured using the basic instructions, making it suitable for basic networking applications. CLI experts will love the extensive menu-based management interface. The router is reliable and error-free, with a MikroTik RouterOS operating system that acts as a decent Layer 3 switch/router. Its WiFi is not well-integrated and not powerful enough, making it unsuitable for heavily thick-walled homes. One customer had trouble adjusting the antenna gain, which led to worse WiFi coverage than the hAP ac2. The router is also behind the network times, as it does not support higher-end technologies like Wi-Fi 6 or 2.5 to 10 Gbs wired Ethernet. Overall, the MikroTik hAP ac3 is a great value for the money if the user can spend Considerable time with it.
