    Answer: My understanding is that glove weight is based on hand size. I bought 12 oz for my 10-year-old son and they are a little big but they work. I have larger hands and am pushed into the 16 oz. Not sure I would want a 12 oz myself with my size, just not enough protection. There are smaller gloves for things like bag work etc., but for sparring you should choose the best fit and the size is what it is.
  • Question: Is large 12 oz?

    Answer: Yes, large is 12 oz. 14 oz is XL.
  • Question: How is the fit? I have larger hands and long thumbs. For example Hayabusa thumb is uncomfortable for me.

    Answer: I have the same issue regarding my hands. I wear a medium glove and use no wraps till gloves break in. Then I will wrap my hands after 3-5 months. A pair of gloves usually last about a year. I train 5-7 days a week, sometimes 2x a day. I don't think you'll have any issues with Rival gloves.
