The Klein Tools VDV770-770 Cable Tester Remote is designed for testing and mapping network cables. It pairs seamlessly with the Scout Pro Max Network Cable Tester (Cat. No. VDV501-770) to help identify faults in cabling and ensure accuracy in installations. By utilizing this remote, technicians can easily perform tests from a distance, making it ideal for large installations. Scenarios such as diagnosing issues in commercial buildings or verifying network setups in complicated office environments are common use cases.

How does the self-storing feature of the Klein Tools VDV770-770 work?

The self-storing feature of the Klein Tools VDV770-770 Cable Tester Remote allows you to easily store the remote within the main tester unit. This design ensures that you don’t misplace the remote, enhancing convenience. It's especially useful in fast-paced work environments where multiple tools are used concurrently. For instance, when you finish testing at one location, simply store the remote directly in the tester, so it’s always ready for your next task without cluttering your workspace.

Can the Klein Tools VDV770-770 connect to other non-Klein cable testers?

The Klein Tools VDV770-770 is specifically designed to be compatible with the Scout Pro Max Network Cable Tester (Cat. No. VDV501-770). This versatility makes it an excellent tool for cable installation or troubleshooting in homes, offices, or data centers, helping techs ensure optimized network performance across different setups.

Is there a screen on the Klein Tools VDV770-770 Cable Tester Remote?

No, the Klein Tools VDV770-770 Cable Tester Remote does not feature a built-in screen. Instead, it is designed to work in conjunction with the Klein Tools Scout Pro Max Network Cable Tester, which displays testing results. This arrangement simplifies operations by keeping the remote lightweight and user-friendly. Users can diagnose cable issues effectively by observing the main unit, making it suitable for technicians who need a straightforward testing experience.
